My name is Jace, and I’m the founder of Fried Egg I’m In Love. Since 2012, we’ve grown from a humble food cart to two restaurants, a food cart downtown, and a production kitchen. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built and deeply committed to providing a positive work environment for our employees while navigating an ever-changing business landscape.

Recently, the Fried Egg Workers Union (FEWU) has taken to public platforms, spreading negative comments and encouraging poor reviews of our business. This is particularly disheartening as we are still in the early stages of bargaining, with no deadlock in negotiations. We have actually given FEWU multiple concessions, while they have given no concessions on anything.

Their approach includes misrepresentations of our actions, accusing us of union-busting and wrongful terminations, all of which are untrue.

We fully adhere to labor laws and invite any claims to be reviewed by the appropriate legal channels. We have excellent legal counsel and extensive documentation to support our actions, and are confident that we are operating within the law.

Sadly, FEWU has chosen to escalate tensions through public misinformation instead of reasonably participating in good-faith negotiations.

As a small business owner, I’ve always strived to offer fair compensation, comprehensive benefits, and a supportive work environment. Most of our team members are happy with their roles and many have chosen not to align with FEWU’s tactics and ideology.

We stand by our values of hard work, accountability, quality, and cooperation.

We’re thankful for our loyal staff and customers who continue to support us. Your patronage means the world to us, and we look forward to continuing to serve the Portland community.

Thank you.
